Laughing

I knew it was coming for the last couple of days - Hudson's been trying really hard to laugh, and tonight he finally figured it out! Of course, I turned on the camera and he immediately went mute.... however, I pestered him constantly until he finally gave in and laughed and 'talked' for the camera! So here is Hudson's 'first' laugh! (Sorry the video is kind of long but I don't know how to make it shorter - I promise the laughing is coming, just be patient)

Skinny

I can't resist posting these pictures of Paul and Aaron. My mom brought down jeans of Ammon's (my little brother who suddenly grew up and left on a mission). She thought maybe Paul or Aaron could wear them, or I could use them for my denim quilt.....

Looking good!

Something was wrong with the zippers.....that's why they don't button.....

I don't know about you, but I think the quilt will have to wait! These two are going to start a new trend....

Aunt Betsy and Uncle Aaron

I don't think anything is more important in life than family. We are blessed to have an awesome family that we love and depend on. Right now we live about ten minutes from two of Vienna and Bristol's favorite people in the whole world.

Watching You-Tube videos with Aunt Betsy and Uncle Aaron
My kids mention Betsy and Aaron at least once a day, and they believe that they are a package deal. If I ever say Betsy, Bristol chimes in with "and Uncle Aaron." We love living close to them and will miss them when we leave. I mean, who will babysit then.....

He Shoots.....He Scores!

Vienna held on all by herself!

Rolling, rolling.....Gone!

Tonight I have mixed feelings about my son - part of me is thrilled (I think thats the biggest part), part of me is sad, and part of me is thinking, "I am not ready to have three mobile children."

It's official, Hudson can roll over! I love this video because I think it is funny how excited Bristol is about her baby brother rolling over. The more active and interactive Hudson gets the more his sisters adore him - and the more we have to protect him. Although, if he continues to grow up this fast, it won't be too long before he can take care of himself.

I can't hear you

Tonight Bristol went upstairs and after calling and calling for her to come down I finally went up after her. This is what I found:

I can't hear you!
What more can I say?

Two Months

Hudson is two months old! He is growing up way too fast; I keep thinking, "Just be a baby." Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try to slow him down - he is growing up!

He will stay on his tummy for only a couple of minutes before he
decides he hates it! It is still too much work.
Hudson was 8 pounds 12 ounces when he was born and 21" long. By his two week appointment he weighed 9.46 pounds and was 21.5 inches long. Here is how fast he has grown in six weeks:

Weight on the left, Length in the middle, Head on the Right
Now, he weighs 14.09 pounds ( 94%), he is 24.7 inches long (96%), and his head is 16.5 (91%). He is my chubby baby! Vienna and Bristol never even got close to cracking the 50%. If he keeps growing this fast he is going to be bigger than both of his sisters in three months.

He still spends most of his time sleeping. He eats about every three hours and at night he is up to a five hour stretch without eating. He loves to talk and smile at us and he will grab our hands if we put them right in front of his face. He thinks he can hold up his head completely on his own...which means he is often doing the bobble-head dance. I love having a boy in our family, we now have a whole new load of laundry...BLUE! The girls love having a new baby and I can't wait to see who he is going to be!

Aww, the life!

Rights of Passage

I think what makes a person a mom is going through certain rights of passage. They are those things that all moms go through sometime or another - often more than once. They are things that are difficult, heartwarming, sad, terrifying, and funny (sometimes the humor doesn't come right away!) After three kids I have hit several of these marks (with plenty more to come) - carrots in Vienna's nose, a bead in her ear (seeing a trend?), rushing to the doctor in the middle of the night, first fevers, first smiles, fingernail polish, first laughs, getting thrown up on, first I love yous...the list goes on and on.

Recently I decided that I should keep track of these moments. Someday I want to tell my children about them when they are new parents and to remind myself of the humor in the things that happen with my kids.

Today I hit a new right of passage.....THE PERMANENT MARKER. It constantly amazes me how FAST my kids can get themselves into a whole lot of trouble. It is very possible that they could hold the world record. Paul and I were upstairs lamenting BYU's losing Brandon Davis when Vienna came up and said quite nonchalantly "Bristol is using Mommy's marker." This is never a good sign.

I went downstairs to find Bristol using a black permanent marker with surprising efficiency, considering her lack of practice. We now own one less pair of pajamas and several books went through a redesign process. Miraculously, our carpet was spared and the girls didn't really have too much marker on them. I realized in retrospect I should have taken a picture - I will next time because lets face I am guaranteed a next time!
