Under Where?

Bristol stashes her underwear. Everywhere. That's right, underwear. The first time she uses the bathroom her pants go back on but her underwear hides. Bizarre? Yes. Hysterical? Yes. I try to remind her, but I also try to let V and B handle the bathroom routine on their own. So, we end up with underwear in all kinds of weird places. The other day, we had friends over and the four year old little boy entertained himself by finding Bristol's underwear all over the house. I think he found four pairs in like 1/2 an hour.

The last few weeks, when I found her hiding places I tried to remember to take pictures:

Shake your bum

Have you seen Paul dance? He picked up his moves from his high school "Backstreet Boys" days. My kids think his dancing his hysterical, and with their encouragement he purposely exaggerates his dancing. Vienna calls it the bum shake. Here is Bristol trying to copy her dad's awesome moves

And here is Hudson copying Bristol's moves

Bristol Faces

Here are Bristol's faces. First pose, no coaching, her interpretation:

Happy

Sad

Scared

Silly

Surprised

Sleepy

Angry

PS - Her arms are COVERED in marker from coloring boxes and making boats with V. Look closely and you can also see remnants on her face too. I only claim to have clean kids from 6am to 6:30am - otherwise no promises.

The Sidewalk

Getting three kids buckled into the car (and back out of the car) on my own is an ordeal. The most stressful part is leaving one of the girls alone for a few transition minutes. I've spent the last four months drilling into the girls that they STAY ON THE SIDEWALK.

This afternoon we rushed out the door to pick up Dad from school (we were late...of course). I tell Bristol to stay on the sidewalk, and start putting Hudson and Vienna in the car when Bristol calls to me, "Mom I need to do a pee!" I glanced over and see her coming towards me into the parking lot so I say, "Bristol no! On the sidewalk!" She retreats and I turn around and finish buckling Vienna and Hudson.

I turn around just in time to catch Bristol peeing on the sidewalk - SERIOUSLY? The one time she was obedient and did EXACTLY what I said all day. As I walked over, she smiled and said, "Look mom, I'm on the sidewalk!"

Terrible, Terrific Twos

Birthdays have become bittersweet moments for me. I love watching my kids grow up. I love watching them work really hard to learn something new and I love seeing the people they are becoming. BUT - it is also hard for me to see them grow up and gain independence and need Mom less. We just got finished with Vienna's terrible, terrific twos just in time to start Bristol's  -

Bristol turned two today - although she acts like she wants to be at least 35....and we had part one of her birthday today with Grandma Walker and Uncle Shawn. (She heard me telling Vienna she was three so many times that today when she had a birthday she assumed she was also three - we are practicing that she is actually two, evidenced by her saying "three no two")

Vienna gave Bristol a telescope

Vienna went shopping with Dad to get Bristol's birthday presents (we should have thought that decision through better). The second she got home she started telling Bristol about her presents. We spent the rest of the day reminding Vienna it was a secret - which meant that she started to whisper what the presents were to Bristol instead of shouting. I am pretty sure that at some point or another Vienna told Bristol what every single present was. Luckily Bristol was still surprised and happy with every present she opened.

Vienna asked if we would open this toy so they could play with it and
then told me it was her and Bristol's food storage.

If you ever ask Bristol to smile this is what you get!

Grandma Walker's present and Uncle Shawn's tongue...

Beautiful Diapers

Hudson is wearing size three diapers and the girls are using size four (Just at bed time - Yay for potty training). I am always getting the diapers mixed up - I usually don't even notice until right before I finish putting the new one on them. Bristol can always tell the difference between the diapers. I ask her to get a diaper for Hudson and she will dig through the basket and find the right one every single time.....

I asked her today how she can tell the difference between the diapers. Without missing a beat she replied:

"My diapers are beautiful!"

I can't hear you

Tonight Bristol went upstairs and after calling and calling for her to come down I finally went up after her. This is what I found:

I can't hear you!
What more can I say?

Beads, Beads, Beads

She figured it out!! Bristol can now make a string of beads all by herself:

We spent about an hour in the morning working on this together. I held the string and she put the beads on. Then she held the string with me. Eventually, she was on her own and there was no stopping her! She was so proud of herself that she finally figured this out. At first she would say "Ta-Da" after every single bead. She spent all day long doing beads - I could not convince her to play with anything else.

"TA-DA"
Look at that concentration!

Notice the beads all over the floor? She would try a bead and if she couldn't get it to go on right away she would throw it and try a different one.
